What to Read? What to Ask?
Many coaches have asked me about the type of questions asked at Battle of the Books.  My advice is to make sure that you are covering the main idea, characters, setting, plot events, conflict, and resolution.  The questions will vary in difficulty.  Many of the questions are focused on the details, however, there are going to be some broad questions as well.

The students may need to know and write the book title for one or more of the answers during Battle of the Books.  If this is the case, please note that we are looking for the complete title.

You may want your team members to read the author's notes/bio and the prologue.  Questions could be taken from these areas as well.  (Remember that we have some tie-breaker questions and they will have to be pretty challenging!)
Coaches To-Do List
Coaches have been asking what the next step is, so I am going to give some suggestions:
1.  Contact each of your team members.
2.  Assist in dividing up work for each team member.
*How many books will each member read?
*Which titles are they responsible for?
3.  Set up a meeting or two with your team to discuss name, T-shirts, and books.
4.  Bring a snack or dessert to share on Thursday, March 4th.
5.  Come prepared to supervise the Battle of the Books on Thursday, March 4th.
